Biography
"In the summer of 1998, Matt Hudson, Paul Roussel, Pete Januszewski, Mike Rakoczy, and Paul McIsaac formed the Rapcore band Scratchkit. They began to write original material and at this point jammed in Mike's basement.
In his basement, Scratchkit wrote tunes such as "New Head, Scratch the Sucker, Contract, Lates, and White on Green." Word of the band spread quickly. People would gather in Mike's basement to watch the band rehearse. Rehearsals were more like private gigs.
On March 26, 1999, Scratchkit played their first gig outside of that basement. This gig was and probably still is the most rememberable show. Before the band went on stage for the first time, waiting fans were chanting the name Scratchkit. The band went on to play to a crowd of 1000 moshing bodies.
In June of 1999, Scratchkit released their debut seven song EP. This CD totals 45 minutes of hair raising screams, emotional choruses, and spine tingling guitars. Later that year, Mike Rakoczy moved away and could no longer be a member of the band.
With the departure of drummer Mike Rakoczy, the remaining members of Scratchkit decided to continue as a four piece band. Paul Roussel - bass player - moved behind the kit to play head pounding drums. Pete Januszewski - rhythm guitar - took over bass to hammer out catchy bass grooves. Matt Hudson supplies the intense vocals while Paul McIsaac provides mind blowing guitar riffs.
Recently Scratchkit was in the studio recording a three song demo of new material. This demo includes the tracks "Cut, Trust in One, and Question This." The band is currently in pre-production preparing for the new full album. These four guys progress with every rehearsal and the new material is heavier with more melodies.
Album release date is yet to be announced."[1]
