From Nu-metal Preservation

The Nu Metal Preservation Project began as a time sink by mthntc in August 2019, amid frustrations with the lack of organized and easily accessible repositories for nu metal music, as well as the complete unavailability of some bands' material online. Since the beginning, one of the main objectives was to amass a massive collection of music from any and all online sources, to sort through all duplicates, and to eventually host the reorganized collection somewhere online.

The project remained offline and private, in preparation for a proper launch with a decent amount of material, until October 2020 when the Discord server was created and the mthntc Youtube channel had gained a small bit of traction. The music archive started being shared on Soulseek, and a fraction of it fueled the inconsistent uploads on Youtube while the objectives and methodology of the project shifted from online scouting to physical media scouting and digitization done by ourselves.

With this, the preservation project slowly grew into what it is today, with tens of people constantly contributing to the music archive, this work-in-progress website, and various active Youtube channels sharing some of our small victories with the rest of the world.

As of September 2023, our music archive contains well over four thousand albums, sixteen hundred of which were ripped by former and current members of the project's community, and we've received the approval and support of members of various bands we've archived to keep doing what we do.

We do not have any social media presence as a collective, but you can contact us directly through Discord or email.
