Biography

"Feature981 was formed in 1999. After several line-up changes, the band has evolved into a group of five talented, creative musicians who show they can achieve the goals of diversity and heaviness that fit their style. The members of Feature981 are: Dustin Larimer (guitars), Cameron Moyer (keys, backup vocals), Aaron DeLand (vokills), TyRel Peck (bass) and Tyler Smith (drums). Feature981 blends death, thrash, hardcore, punk and nu-metal to craft it's unique sound. Precision drumming, thick bass grooves, and powerful guitar riffs create the band's instrumental vehicle and rhythmic style, while unique electronics and an intense combination of dual clean and heavy vocals breathe life into the chaotic instrumental assault. They have gained a sizeable fan base of all ages, covering Denver and eastern Colorado, northwest Kansas, and southwest Nebraska. Feature981 has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with: The Pistils,Tyfoid Mary, Synthetic Delusion, Concussion One Stone, Misunderstood, 36 Flip, Apathy, Hedon, Stalemate, Insignificant, Devil Box, The Fidgets, Makeshift Revolution, Sonic Big Wheel, Barrol, Sidhe, Deadspeak, Misanthrope, Bleeding Faith, Auspicion, A Band Called Horse, Blister 66, and Fomofuiab. They have released a full length EP entitled "A New Beginning" and plan to record again in the fall of 2002." [1]

"Feature981 was formed in 1999 when Aaron, Tyler, and a few other friends started jamming in a basement after school. The band spent many years playing shows with other small bands in their home town of Wray, Colorado. Early in the fall of 2001, Feature981 brought keyboardist Cameron Moyer in to add an experimental electronic element to the band's already heavy mix. In October of 2001, Feature981 recorded and released their self-financed 9 song EP "A New Beginning" at Hellion Studios in Boulder, Colorado. As the CD was being pressed Feature981's guitarist left, but the band had already found a permanent replacement, recruiting guitarist Dustin Larimer from the middle of nowhere, Nebraska.

Feature981 realized they had the right mixture of ambition and chemistry to take their music to a higher level. Over the next ten months Feature981 made the six hour round trip trek to Denver, Colorado several dozen times to play small clubs and bars such as the Roxy Theatre, the Illif Park Saloon, the Crowbar, the Sportsfield Roxxx, determined to make name for themselves among Denver's greater local bands. As their high school years were drawing to a close, Feature981 made plans to relocate to Denver where they could effectively move into the local music scene and develop as musicians.

After spending one full year in Denver, Feature981 has evolved into a group of five talented, creative musicians with the ambition and drive to take their music to the masses. The members of Feature981 are: Aaron DeLand (vocals), Tyler Smith (drums), Cameron Moyer (electronics, backup vocals), Dustin Larimer (guitars) and recently recruited Tyson Brown (bass),

Feature981 draw their influence from all over the musical spectrum, touching on everything from death metal to hardcore to punk. Precision drumming, thick bass grooves, and powerful guitar riffs create the band’s instrumental vehicle and rhythmic style, while atmospheric electronics and an intense combination of dual clean and heavy vocals breathe life into the chaotic instrumental assault. Recently, Feature981 has added to their accomplishments very successful shows at the Bluebird, Ogden, and Gothic Theaters. Now equipped with a skyrocketing fan base and a steadily growing buzz, Feature981 are quickly climbing the ladder of the Denver Music Scene." [2]
