Biography
"(Artist History) In The Making.... the story of us 4. Mike and Fred have been making music together for a while in a previous band lankbox. They met Ty through a friend named Mike Cruz (FAZE). so they hooked up and fucked shit up in fred's basement in August of 2000 . The three clicked immediatley. it was obvious. After they decided to get a Jam Space , they wrote a couple bad ass tunes, then they decided that maybe they would need someone to scream and stuff for those bad ass tunes so... . Ty thought about bringing in Chad, who played bass at the time and just moved to Downtown Denver in 1999. Chad and Ty had been working on starting a band themselves before. But never thought about meeting such kick ass motherfuckers as Fred and Mike. so...ty brought him in In jan. 2001 ...... they started giggin and now its bee 8 months of fucking domination Currently FOMOFUIAB has 21+ original songs, and are gigging consistently. They live in Denver, Colorado, so Check out the shows page to see when you can catch FOMOFUIAB. Thanks for your support you fucks!! seriously"[1][2]
"So what the hell does FOMOFUIAB mean anyway? The name literally means four mother fuckers in a band, but there is much more to it than that. How many heavy bands exist today that thrive on the evil and angst-filled image that might not even be a true representation of them selves? We wanted a name that would not pinpoint us; a name that would separate ourselves from that genre. So in a way, the name itself is a representation of our music. Music that is progressive; music that is pushing the envelope of what we hear 90% of the time on the radio; music that is not afraid to explore the depths of Hardcore, Jazz and Funk; music that is original and emotional.
It all started with Mike Krening (bass) and myself, Mike (Fred) Schneider (drums), both members of a former band that was not fulfilling our musical needs. We decided to leave the band and search for musicians on our wavelength. Finding a good guitarist was not easy, but we were lucky enough to meet Ty Fury through a mutual friend. After only minutes of playing together, Mike and I knew that Ty was on the same level and with a similar ideal: versatility. Krening had grown up as a Rush junkie, but with a profound love for funk music such as Tower of Power and Parliament Funkadelic. Ty had grown up listening to a lot of fast paced metal, but also spent hours and hours studying different styles such as Jazz and Classical at the University of Colorado in Denver. I have a strange love for heavy music myself, but have also spent an equal amount of time studying African, Latin, Jazz, and Funk Music. We all knew that there was a large amount of talent among us, so we decided to get serious and find a singer. Months went by with no progress, but there was a friend of Ty’s, by the name of Chad Armstrong (vocals), who began to impress us with his desire to be our front man. Chad has had no formal training and he did not sing well at all when he first tried out. But he kept coming back and started to sound good. His constant persistence impressed the three of us and at last, FOMOFUIAB was formed.
Almost a year later, FOMOFUIAB has progressed greatly. With close to 20 original songs and about 80 shows (national and local) under our belt, a very new style has emerged. We are band with a strong desire to be different and progressive, while embracing the importance of emotion. Many of Chad’s lyrics speak of individuality, an ideal that will keep us moving through the trends that seem to die as soon as they arise. But more importantly, music is our blood and we are willing to make any sacrifice to keep it running through us."[3]
