Biography

Loopus is a band from Rochester, New York, USA. The band formed in 1997 and after two years of performing in and around Rochester the group decided to revamp and solidify the bands line-up. Later that year in 1999 the band would release their first album titled 'Foundation For Family Fun and Sodomy', the album was actually released under the bands own record label Foundation Records and in it's first year of release the album had sold over 1,000 copies and to this day had sold over 5,000 copies. Soon after the band would perform at the Vans Warped Tour 2000 and would go on to perform at the next four Warped Tours as well.

Later on in 2000 the group released an EP titled 'Loopus: Live' this EP featured live tracks from past performances. At around the same time the band would introduce a DJ to the group. Fast forward to 2001 and Loopus had won the Battle of the bands to earn a place at the Vans Warped Tour 2001 where the performed alongside bands such as Sum 41, Snapcase, Alien Ant Farm and Green Day. During their time on tour the band were writing material for their upcoming album titled 'The Art of Perception' which later be released in the Winter of 2001. After the release of their second album the band went quiet having postponed shows to work on even more material. Later on in 2002 Loopus would appear at their third Vans Warped Tour and again during their time on tour the band had written two new songs and remaster two of their older tracks. These four tracks would feature on a 4 track EP which was sold in mid December and was limited to only 30 copies.

Now into 2003 the band had performed at their fourth Vans Warped Tour and had released three new tracks to promote their third album 'Pick Up The Pieces'. Information on the band at this point is sparse all that we know is that the band would perform at their fifth Vans Warped Tour in 2004 and would release their third and final album 'Pick Up The Pieces'. Some time afterwards the band would split up. Former members went on to form other bands such as Absolution Project and Setiva.
