Biography

Masochist were a Nu Metal/Metalcore band out of Connecticut that started with Jesse & Brandon doing basement jams before being joined by Shawn, Chris & Ian in 2003. Shauna came in as a female backup vocalist for a short tenure in 2004. The band disbanded sometime in late 2004, early 2005 with both Jesse & Shawn leaving to join the band Damage Tone before reuniting Masochist in 2006 with new members Mike (former Strained Existence vocalist) & Tim (former Damage Tone bassist). The 2006 era of the band saw them drop most of their Nu Metal sound for a more Groove Metal/Metalcore vibe. During their active years the band played a good number of shows, opening for the likes of Powerman 5000, 10 Years, Wednesday 13, Mushroomhead, Ill Nino, In This Moment, God Forbid, The Agonist, Mnemic, Darkest Hour and Soilwork. Mike and Tim are the only members of the band still active in the CT music scene, having been in the band Our Own Destruction for a number of years now.
