Biography
Powerful and young band from Biscay oriented towards the most current and wild metal. A mix between Machine Head and Anesthesia. Power and melody don't have to be laughed at. After having offered numerous live performances and with a sold out demo, now they present us their first studio work produced by the band itself under the watchful eye in the control of Mikel Anestesia.
"Biok was formed in 1999 when the band Deiadar, in which Aitor (Frik), Imanol (H.K.M.), Unai (Su aizkora) and Joseba already played, changed singers. Ibon (DoNoDisturb) entered, starting a new, harder stage musically speaking. At that moment it can be said that biok was created.
Their first demo was recorded at Rock Studios, with Carlos Creator as producer. With this demo they won several competitions: Ciudad de Urduña Maketa Contest (2001), Gaztetoki de Basauri Maketa Contest (2001). At the time of recording the maketa Joseba left the group and Julen (DoNoDisturb) joined as the new bassist.
The Gaztetoki contest gave them the opportunity to record three new songs (Orain esan, Segada eta Dekoratuari erantsiak) at the Tio Pete studios, with the help of José Lastra, as a prize for winning in the Basque section of the "GAZTETOKI maketa lehiaketa" contest. These three songs helped them win new contests such as the "entzuleen saria" (listeners' prize) on radio "Euskadi Gaztea" 12. lehiaketa and the 3. Villa de Ondarru live competition. It should also be noted that they qualified in the 15th Villa de Bilbao competition. They also ranked in the top 25 of 400 preselected groups in the VALENCIA SONA competition.
As the years went by, the need to make their new songs known led them to bet on themselves (since no one was going to do it for them). They contacted different people until they met Mikel Kazalis (Anesthesia, Negu Gorriak, Kuraia, 2Kate and Estigia). After meeting with him one afternoon they decided that Mikel would be in charge of recording their new 13 songs. Said and done, after some time and with the money saved during those years they entered the Fidelena de Zarautz studio. The result is a powerful album with 13 songs, in which we can find collaborations from people like Izaskun (2Kate), Janire (Noraezean) and Sergio (eraso!). Finally the album "Margo Debekatuak" (forbidden paintings) was just released with the METAK label.
Nowadays they are focused on live shows, presenting their new album."[1]
