Biography

"Certainly, if the musical life of a group is quite short, we can hardly speak of an extensive curriculum of concerts and experiences. The truth is that, when we talk about Kertuler, referring to musical concepts, we are talking about five young people who do what they like and try to start a humble Metal group in which they have all their hopes. Beny, the group's drummer, was the great architect of the project. He meets Melero and Marcos, bassist and guitarist respectively, at a local group's concert; This approach between them leads to dialogue based on the musical knowledge they have in common and their aspirations. In this way, they start playing simply for fun. Months later they realize that they would like to do something more serious and decide to talk to Julio, a high school classmate of Beny's, who would later become the group's singer. Thus the group begins to write lyrics for songs that previously lacked them. These lyrics were about protest, solidarity with the rest of the world, racism, injustice, death... in short, lyrics that show us what is happening in the world today. And this will become the general tone of the group's songs.

In September 2000, they gave their first concert, from that date the group began to play in different pubs, clubs and concert halls where they were well received by the public. Months later the group realizes that they need to define their style a little more and choose to look for another guitarist. After several tests with different people, they found Juanito, a guitarist with a lot of experience in other groups. From there the group is complete and KERTULER and its style undergo a radical change, going from making very hard Rock to the Metal they make today. Their first album is a mini CD under the name "El Despertar" that came out in December 2002.

These 5 young people continue playing and composing and do not lose their enthusiasm, because they have something in common among them: they love music and defend their style, and above all, they want to continue expressing themselves and transmitting their music through Kertuler.

From the beginning of its formation, the group received the name Abismo, but due to the existence of another formation with the same name, it adopted the name KERTULER."

"KERTULER emerged in Noia (A Coruña) in April 2000 as a metal group open to other styles but always within metal rhythms. From the beginning, an innovative style was sought outside of traditional rhythms and although it starts with poorly defined trash, what defines KERTULER is a very aggressive nu-metal and devastating critical lyrics. Its five components are the reflection of a young and ambitious music and their live concerts show a mixture of dynamics, power and rage, all this combined with an explosion of tensions that makes the most embarrassed break out and show their support with shouts and acclamations, making the KERTULER concerts more than a simple party "we try to give concerts and give everything live, because we believe that it is as important for our promotion as the music itself." Likewise, the problems of territorial situation or Likewise, economic problems have been the trend since the group's existence because they prevent the easy propagation of their music and its broad promotion. Although this history of the group is short, there will always be a part of the story untold and many anecdotes to mention."
